Unofficial CD32 Release - Point & Click Adventure Games

A collection of 86 Point & Click Adventure games with all the classics released for the Amiga on here, along with some nice previously unreleased games like English versions of Teen Agent And Inherit The Earth (which is the full English talkie version on the disc!) and the unreleased full game 'In Shadow Of Time'

 Menu Screen

Roughly half the games will let you use the Joypad as a virtual mouse, although a real mouse is recommended for speed and accuracy. A keyboard is needed too for some of the earlier adventure games, games have listings with what they require before loading (some also require FastRAM).

Saving is obviously the biggest problem when it comes to the CD32, there's no miracle answer here, you will need either a external disk drive or HDD for the games that let you choose a save directory

There is too many games to list here, the full list is in the readme included in the download, which also contains the ISO and Cover files seen here.

Can be downloaded on the EAB FTP server in the 'uploads/cd32' folder or via 'da frog.

50 Not Out

The CD32 50 Game disc was my 50th CD32 I've put together (for those trying to work it out, it's the total of 40 releases as listed on the right, 4 other solo Lemmings discs, 5 FastRAM discs and the recent Bitmap Brothers AGA disc).

So before i release my next disc this week i'd thought i would compile some pictures of my covers, logos and menus i put together over the past 2 1/2 years, lets us know which your favourites are in the comments below!

Future CD32 Discs

A post to update on what I'm currently working on and any future disc plans.

I think I've got to the stage, whilst the developer and genre discs are nice, but i feel its time to start consolidating some of my previous discs into a big game collection of only 8-10 discs and concentrate on purely updating these only.

My disc plan;

In Progress;
  • 2 Decades Of Amiga Games v0.1 (100 games) (1 or 2 discs with around 400 games total, won't contain any of the games on the 4 completed discs below, but will consolidate as many of my previous discs as possible plus other games i haven't included on any of my releases so far) - Download v0.1 and report any errors on EAB forum.
Completed:
  • 50 CD32 Game Disc (50 games)
  • Team 17 Collection (31 games)
  • Psygnosis Collection (70 games)
  • Amiga Christmas Crackers (33 Xmas related releases)

Any disc consolidated will be shortly deleted, so if you want to download them all, now is the time! (hint Superfrog is wise, Superfrog is kind ;)

Updates

I've obviously been busy with my CD32 Scene Magazine the last few months, that's not to say I've working on new compilation discs for the CD32.

Here's one i had ready to go a couple of years ago, this is basically the same as the OCS pack i released in 2016, has updated menu screen and cover art and replaces the following games;

The Chao's Engine with the CD32 AGA version
Speedball 2 with the CD32 AGA version
The Chao's Engine 2 with the AGA version

For various reasons The Chao's Engine 2 AGA wouldn't work through CD32Load, so instead of leaving it in limbo forever, I'm releasing it as it is, please bear in mind this requires FastRAM to load, and a keyboard to use the in-game commands.

Can be downloaded on the EAB FTP server in the 'uploads/cd32' folder.

Unofficial CD32 Release - 4 Decades Of Amiga Demos v0.2 - UPDATE!

A year to the day since i released '4 decades of Amiga demos' and now its time for the first update, v0.2 features a huge 101 newly added demos!

The main reasoning to update was to create a folder for FastRAM equipped CD32's, so they can play a little more advanced demos that were previously out of reach of 2MB console owners.

Along with the FastRAM only demos folder, there is a new 'Rave-Acid' demos folder for those wanting something a little more fast paced!

In total this update has 101 new demos, 44 of those are FastRAM only, whilst the other 57 will work on stock CD32's too, plenty of new and old material across the years.

Plus to make it easy for those who downloaded the first version, in the read-me I've listed all 101 new demos to make it easier to search and watch the newly added ones, including new 2018 demos like 'The Fall' (Above)

Also includes a bonus CDXL video! Rewind to 1987 and hum along to the 'Only Amiga' music video, and yes it will get stuck in your head for the rest of the evening!

Plenty of places to download this; EAB FTP Server  /  Pouet Demozoo

DOOM II - Unofficial CD32 Release - FastRAM Required!

Quick an easy release for some of you who asked for it, here is Doom II for the CD32 with FastRAM (Same details apply as per the first Doom post regarding memory).

As its using the same engine, you get the same speed as per the original. Also for those that asked, no sorry Hexen and Heretic weren't supported under this engine, and yes I've made test images for the CD32 using different engine's, but since they aren't optimized as well, along with not supporting the Akiko, even with a postage stamp screen they aren't playable, it certainly makes you appreciates the work done on these engines even more! So unless you have a faster CPU Doom I & II are the only open source FPS games we will get on the CD32.

Finally the only other change I've made is hiding all the CLI loading gubbins, now it shows a quick loading screen and goes blank until the Doom title screen loads, have also changed this for the first Doom included in the download.

Controls:

Red = Shoot
Blue = Open Doors
Play = Pause/Menu
FWD = Strafe Right
RWD = Strafe Left

Many thanks again to Georg Steger the author of Doom Attack.

Downloads on the EAP server.

New CD32 Game Release!

Not one of my personal releases, but a close friend has been working on this for over a year and now we can finally present this CD32 exclusive game to you! The Final Gate 2 : Toilet Wars.

Featuring a huge 6 minutes of CDXL high quality footage personally filmed with permission in an unnamed toilet block, along with high quality 16hz sound samples recorded on location, the aim is to shoot the bad guys and reclaim the area for the good of the public its that simple!

I've made the covers for him and had an extensive playthrough of the game myself, and wow if you thought the first game was good, this is even better but within a public place of convenience!

You can find the download on the EAB FTP server, be patient, as all the high quality CDXL video included has meant its a big download!

Edit: Sorry for those who were genuinely wanting to play this! it was an April fools sorry!

Site Updates

No CD32 release this update, though i have a couple of releases brewing, one for the end of March and another in mid April. This update is to let you know I've also been doing other CD32 related stuff;

The first is, I've been compiling old Amiga adverts and making PDF's that are to free to view on Issuu, not all are Amiga related, but I've done one's for CD32, CDTV and Psygnosis, well worth a flick through to reminisce on the games we got, and sadly the games we didn't get the chance to play! My Lemmings and Amiga books are also on there for those who don't have too much free space on their device(s) to download them.

https://issuu.com/amigajay

The other update is a big update to my CD32 booting disc lists spreadsheets, I've added nearly 200 homebrew discs and over 80 cdxl video discs to the lists, which now contain over 600 discs that are playable on a stock CD32, a pretty amazing number of stuff to play I'm sure you'll agree!

Both links are permanently available in the left-side of this blog, thanks for visiting, come back in a couple of weeks for my next update.

Unofficial CD32 Release - Sensible Software : The Complete Amiga Works

The most requested Amiga Works release, this is Sensible Software : The Complete Amiga Works, a new disc for stock CD32 owners, containing 23 games and demos for your perusal.

Most are playable with a Joypad, thought a couple will require a mouse plugged in, tbh a mouse is recommended for all of the Cannon Fodder titles, though not required for the first game. Also some of the titles have had extra CD32 controls added as standard.

Finally alot of people don't know the CD32 version of Sensible Soccer has CD audio, which funnily enough had a bug which stopped the audio tracks playing in European Champions, but was rectified for International 1.2 which I've included, though as an early example of CD audio in a football game, it quite often doesn't playback quick enough or not at all, but when it does its a nice extra!
